Adjustable Beds for Your Health

Adjustable beds are most often thought of in hospital rooms and sick rooms, but there are some health advantages to having one in your home. A good night’s sleep is one of the most important aspects of good health and is as important as a good diet and plenty of exercise. Without the proper rest, the body does not function properly and no matter how good your diet is or how much exercise you participate in, you will not feel completely healthy. An adjustable bed may be able to help you give your body the rest that it needs. (more…)

Finding the Perfect Children’s Bed

We all tend to think that a children’s bed is not an important part of a child’s good health. The mattresses can be uncomfortable and thin on these smaller beds, but children must have a good night’s sleep for proper development and good health. Sleep is just as important for a child as it is for an adult. (more…)

Eco Friendly Bed Frames

You might not think of your bed as the place that you can have an impact on the environment, but the materials that are used as well as the company that manufactures your bed frame, is one area that you can make a difference.

If you are in the market for a new bed frame, consider looking at companies that have made a decision to manufacture in an environmentally friendly way. Some companies donate a portion of their earnings to planting new trees in areas that need ecological assistance and others are committed to doing their part to help the environment. Using these companies is a good way to show that the environment means something to you, even when it comes to the purchase of your bed. (more…)

Try A Bed Before You Buy

Not every mattress is created equal, and just because your friend might have a Sleep Number bed (or any other high quality bed) that is working wonders for them, doesn’t mean it will work for you. That is why I advise that before you invest any serious cash into a mattress always test it out first. Even if you then return to buy from the internet in order to find the best deals.

Many mattress companies know that customers might not be interested in gambling on a $600-$3000 investment, and at such they will gladly offer you up to 90 day home trials. It is in your best interest to take advantage of these as you can never be sure what your ideal bed is until you have tested it for yourself.

Three things to ask yourself before buying a new bed

A mattress can often be a leading factor in losing sleep throughout the night, although there can be other causes too. There are some ways to determine whether it’s the mattress that is the problem or something else that is causing the sleepless nights.

  1. Do you have trouble falling asleep? Usually if the mattress is the problem, you will fall asleep but wake up in the morning with back or side aches. However if you lay awake for hours before finally falling sleep, you might want to check out other culprits.
  2. Do you toss and turn at night? Generally this is a sign of nothing more then a bad mattress or bad back (often as a result of a bad mattress). Either way a replacement mattress such as a memory foam mattress or Sleep Number bed could help with this. Some of the best beds and mattresses can do wonders for your health.
  3. Is your mattress old? Many of the times, the older the mattress gets, the weaker and more shaky the springs get. This causes them to shift and cause pressure points that can be very uncomfortable. If your mattress is over 5 years old this could be a problem and is worth looking into a bit further, to find out whether this is in fact the cause.
